Hello friend! I'm Kelly, and together with my husband and two boys, we are a homeschooling family sharing our journey of learning through life (or child-led learning) to inspire other families to give this way of learning a try too!

My husband and I always dreamed of teaching our kids by showing them the world - instead of learning about the Alamo in a textbook, for example, to actually take them there so they can gain a deeper understanding and experience the things they're learning about with all the senses.

We knew we wanted to homeschool in order to make that dream a reality.

I realized something, though, when my oldest officially started his kindergarten year of "school" (homeschool) and the pressure was on to make sure he was meeting all the requirements. The math book he used to love doing for fun wasn't as fun anymore, and it got downright horrible when I told him he had to do it! Overnight, it seemed I inadvertently turned my little boy with a love of learning into one who resisted any mention of the word "school."

And even more interesting is when I stopped forcing it, it became fun again. Thus started our journey of child-led learning, and what an incredible journey it's been.

Through trial, error, research, and soul-searching, we decided that this style of learning is the best way for us. Maybe it will be for you too!
